Project: Nepean River Weirs Client: Macmahon Contractors Clients Project Manager: Chris Fenner - (02) 9855 4000 Civil Sydneys Contract Value: $1.2m Project Description Macmahon had been contracted by the Sydney Catchment Authority to upgrade the existing infrastructure between Penrith and Douglas Park on the Nepean River at ten separate sites. Macmahons work included installation of new fish-ways, construction of environmental flow pipes, monitoring equipment and upgrade of existing weir structures Civil Sydney was engaged for the installation of bored piers as well as well as installation of sheet piles, driven steel and hardwood piles. Due to the environmentally sensitive nature of the works Civil Sydney worked closely with Macmahon to ensure the works had no adverse impact on the surrounding environment Civil Sydney assisted in the design and implementation of various aspects of the Temporary Works that allowed Macmahon to construct aspects of the work in excess of 1.5m below water level. |
